With over a decade of operational and strategic experience in law enforcement, I bring a proven track record in emergency response leadership and incident management. I am a trained Bushfire and Arson Liaison Officer (BALO) and have served as the Incident Controller at countless critical incidents, coordinating multi-agency responses under pressure. My extensive frontline experience has instilled in me a deep respect for structure, communication, and decisive leadership—principles that form the foundation of EMLED’s training and assessment programs. Through EMLED, I now help organisations build operational resilience by developing clear emergency frameworks and identifying true leadership potential within their teams.
Kira Wetere
CO-Founder
Co-founder Kira Wetere, a seasoned response leader and emergency specialist with over seven years of frontline experience. EMLED empowers corporate clients with the leadership capability, systems, and training needed to respond effectively to critical incidents and operational emergencies.
With a career grounded in high-risk, high-pressure environments—including Emergency Response Group leadership and tactical command roles—Kira has led, trained, and developed teams through complex emergencies. He designed and delivered a bespoke Leadership Course for Emergency Management, focused on instilling strong values, building confidence, and enabling decisive, ethical leadership during crisis events.
Kira’s practical expertise spans emergency response planning, staff capability development, and incident command, backed by certifications in tactical instruction, de-escalation, and emergency procedures. He has authored emergency operating guidelines and facilitated multidisciplinary training in partnership with Victoria Police, Fire Rescue Victoria, and Corrections Victoria’s Emergency Management Unit.
EMLED is grounded in operational credibility and driven by a passion for values-based leadership. Under Kira’s guidance—recognized through multiple industry awards including Trainer of the Year 2022, Employee of the Month for Emergency Management, and Two Emergency Response Commendations—the consultancy offers a premium suite of services: Emergency Needs Assessments, strategic planning, live training, and executive coaching.
